Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington (AAGB) Member

Susan’s first art class took place in a display window of a men’s clothing store.  The teacher was the stores’ display director, her father.  There she learned an appreciation for composition and color schemes by picking out neck ties to complement the shirts and suits that would adorn the mannequins posing in the display windows. At the time, she was unaware   that she was really setting the building blocks for her eventual interest in art. Before moving to Bloomington, Susan dabbled and doodled but never dreamed she would or could become a visual artist.

Susan has been a student of oil painting since 2015 and is still observing, learning and perfecting her new craft. She primarily paints in a photo realistic style and has gradually begun to experiment with different mediums and techniques such as water color, pointillism and collage. But actually, she  is open to trying anything.

She is a retired registered nurse and a Veteran, living in Bloomington with her partner Glorianne and their dog Cur-Be and cat Tuxie.
