Paint Bloomington is a vibrant community event organized by multiple arts organizations collaborating together. The event aims to address the lack of interactive visual art activities for the entire community by providing a free inclusive day where individuals of all ages and skill levels can come together and paint. We encourage creativity, learning and community engagement by offering free art supplies and diverse classes, including painting in nature, papermaking, journal creation, printmaking, perspective, drawing, portrait drawing and learning the basics of watercolors and other mediums. Participants can just enjoy themselves or they can choose to have their artworks judged in a friendly competition. With over 100 artists ranging from 7 to 85 years old, Paint Bloomington celebrates surprising talents within our community. This event showcases the power of art to transcend boundaries, promotes diversity and brings people together for a day of shared artistic expression and learning. Our intention is to offer small classes throughout the year as well.
