Inspiring Oil Paintings!!

An internationally recognized choral director, Henry Leck is a professor emeritus in choral music at Butler University, where he served on the faculty for 27 years.  He is the Founder and Conductor Laureate of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir where he served for 30 years.

Upon retirement from Butler University and the Indianapolis Children’s Choir in 2016, Henry and his wife Meredith moved to Bloomington. This is when he took up a “new passion ”  OIL PAINTING!  Since then, Leck has studied with Michael Teague, Lawrence Rudolech, Wyatt LeGrand, Pam Newell, Michael Chesley Johnson, Patrick Saunders, Kenn Beckhaus, Troy Kilgore, John Michael Carter, Derek Penix, Dave Santillanes, Claude Cookman, Guido Frick, Mary Ann Davis and Jason Bailey. He recently painted and studied landscape painting in Cornwall, England with John Doran.

Leck is an active member of the Bloomington Portrait Group, the Bloomington Watercolor Society, the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association and is a founding member of the  Upland Plein Air.  Leck is a member of the “Friends of T.C. Steele” and currently the President of the Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington.

Leck’s works can be found on his website: henryleck.com. His paintings which tend to be impressionist landscapes, are also exhibited at the Hoosier Artist Gallery in Nashville, Indiana and the Arts Alliance Center in the Bloomington College Mall.
