Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington (AAGB) Member

Chandra Craig-Rettinger- Visual Artist Art has been a passion throughout my life; sculpting with play dough as a young child, excelling in every high school art class, mom involving me in private drawing classes, exploring a wide variety of art mediums in college, and now independent studies using unconventional materials. Art Education- I attended Indiana University for Fine Arts with a focus on Sculpture,  Ceramics, and Art Education. Passions & Inspiration- I have always appreciated our planets natural environment and all it’s beautiful creatures, so a lot of my creative designs evolved from this love. I became a member of the Artists for Climate Awareness organization to help spread the message of various environmental concerns in the world. http://artistsforclimateawareness.org I’ve always enjoyed fashion and it’s creative process and the artistic design that goes into making a garment.  The past three years I have participate in Bloomington’s Trashion Refashion runway show created by The Center for Sustainable Living.  You can check out my designs and others at link below. http://bloomingtontrashion.org What I’m doing now… I am currently utilizing up-cycled denim from jeans and other discarded materials to create whimsical and fashionable textiles.  As well as, creating unique earrings from various up-cycled household plastics. ~helping the planet one artwork at a time~
